Works great for things I ordered for
I really like the design, easy to handle, no high tech, on off, heat out, just easy to use. Voltage rates is for 110 and 220. I get the heat I need, about 62'C or 144 F. This is perfect for my banding job, but does it get hotter with 220V? The heating iron is stainless steel and when clean it works very well. The big wooden handle works out and does not transfer the heat to your hand. I used it for 3 to 4 hours at the time and it keeps the set heat. Very good tool. Hope it will last.

Works but no real temperature control
The iron does not have a nonstick coating, but those usually wear off. There are NO marks on the unit that would correspond to a temperature setting. After some testing, it appears that the knob barely controls the temperature and does it opposite one would expect. With the dial rotated on and all the way around (Max), my iron was reading about 375 deg. F. With the dial just clicked to ON, where you would expect to have the lowest temperature, my iron reached 390 deg. F! The box indicates that the iron's temperature is 180 deg. C +/- 10 deg C, which range is 338 deg.F to 374 deg. F. My iron is hotter than the maximum temperature range listed on the box. Most irons of this design have a wide range of temperatures and a dial that can adjust the temperature well over the 15 deg. F that my iron seems to be able to accomplish. Unfortunately, it is extremely hard to find those types of hobby irons these days.

Hand Edgebanding Iron
We use this tool to attach banding to our cello stands. The iron works well, except the cord is about a 8 inches too short. Other than that, we're very happy with this tool. The stand that comes with it is also very handy.

Doesn't heat high enough
The iron doesn't heat enough to melt the glue, takes a lot of extra time. Good side it's heavy duty and has a nice handle

Applique prep
I use the iron to turn under the fabric edges when I am doing applique! It works great!
