Semi-concealed hinges are used less now, but are easy to retrofit replacements. Part of the hinge is exposed when the cabinet door is closed, therefore the hinge color and finish need to match the knob or pull on the door.

Some of these that have a wrap around mounting plate have a fixed overlay, while other that have a front mount can be used with any door overlay. The 3/8" inset is used when a thinner look to the door is desired. The door has a 3/8"' x 3/8" rabbit milled in the back of the door and the hinge has a matching step.
